I have yet to use in my car, but it seems to be a decent alternative to damaging my auto paint with a magnetic mount antenna.Easy to install. As good maybe a little better than the outside antenna on my old car.I attached this antenna to my SDR scanner and the background static went away and many more distant stations were able to be listened to. Much better than the antenna that came with my scanner. Glad I bought two; one for home and one for go.Extremely weak signal ,even close to towers . That being said it's functional and the suction cups make it convenient to get out of the way. 3 starsI bought this to use in my parents vertical while I'm art their house dealing with court stuff. I wasn't expecting much for the price. I set it up hooked my Uniden BC125AT up to it and was shocked at how well and how much it was picking up. It beats having a stock antenna or whipe antenna inn the car. The performance it's almost on par with my tri-ban Di-pole my Dad had me. I'm planning on buying another one or two for my vehicles back home. I highly recommend this antenna.I bought this to get a better reception for my scanner. Works great! I get really good signal where I can't with the standard antenna as I'm able to move it until its good. The suction cups for the line doesn't hold very well. But I have found if you soak the suction cup in some water, they hold longer than when you dont. Great product!I purchased this to use with a scanner in my home. I was using the stock telescoping antenna attached to the unit. I installed this antenna in the upper corner of a window on the East side of my house where I normally hang out. It improved reception considerably. I'm sure that if it was convenient to install it on a West facing window, it would be even better, because the repeaters are to the West. But for an uncomplicated inexpensive step up, this works very nicely.Not bad at all i have better range now. I also pick up air craft alot better. The cable is small enough to fit thru the window and close it completely. This is really great alternative to a large outdoor antenna
