I installed this unit on a 1995 Saturn SL2. You need the upgraded radio with the AX button for this to work, it also has the equalizer. Install is pretty simple but can get complex if you want the wires hidden and routed properly. It took me 2 tries and about 3 hours in total to install. If I were to do it again I could knock it out in 45 minutes. The instructions for installation are horrible, but for setting up the unit itself they are OK. The big problem in choosing which cable to use and where to place the unit. Here is the skinny on a Saturn. The cable to use is the GM1 cable, you install it in the trunk and run the I-Pod wire to the front of the car. The instructions say to use the GM2, this is wrong. How to install. The GM1 cable plugs into the trunk cable for the CD changer. It is deceptive because the plug looks like the plug on the back of the radio. It isn't. And it has 2 rows of plugs but the trunk cable for the changer only has 1 row. They do plug together. So I mounted the isimple box in the trunk, plugged in the GM1 cable to the unit and the CD changer cable, then I ran the I-Pod cable under the back seat, carpet, console (which I removed to do the work) to the front of the car. It took me hours of research to find the correct cable (it is included) which was useless because nobody has discovered it. I had to figure it out myself. How it works? Excellent! Plugged in the I-pod, pressed the AX button, and it worked!!!! I can control the I-Pod with the buttons on the radio OR the I-Pod itself. It is really really slick! Very happy!
