The counter has antenna to make measurement quick and convenient. Specification: Operating current: 46mA Battery: 3-1.5V AAA Batteries Measure range:Frequency 1MHz-1000MHz (Mainly used VHF:136-174MHz UHF: 400-520Mhz), all CTCSS, all DCS Operation: Power On/OFF: Press the power button and release to power on. Press the power button and hold 2 seconds to power off. Measure Method: Press the power button to turn on the counter, put the signal source nearby the counter, the measured frequency will be displayed within 1 second. (Sometimes there is a frequency value on the screen already when the counter power on, that is an interference frequency. You should press the power button once after put the signal source nearby the counter, and then the value is measured.) If the signal source has a CTCSS tone, the tone will be showed directly below the transmitted frequency display. If the signal source has a DCS code, the normal code and the invert code of DCS are simultaneously showed directly below the transmitted frequency display. (The DCS measurement would take one second more time.) To measure again, press the power button. Test measurement results: To test the results, press the right M button, the counter will transmit a low level signal with a tone. Your receiver will hear this so you know that the tested frequency and tone is correct. Automatic power off: In the absence of any operating system would power off automatically after 60 seconds.

This worked for a while and seemed to be accurate. Now it's completely deaf. I can hold a walkie talkies right next to it, and it says no signal. Transmitter is good and can talk to other radios.
