Although my lawnmowers have become much quieter, I still hate the NOISE it makes! - and the Gas Weed wacker! Thank Goodness my old headphones got dropped and worn out!This unit is like the CADILLAC of headphones! I could still hear my lawnmower with my OLD headphones!, BUT these are FANTASTICO! I started the lawnmower, and I COULD NOT HEAR IT! - I only knew it was running because I could feel the vibration of the motor, when I was holding the handle! SO, I'm already thinking of other situations to use it! - using circular saw, table saw, grinders, planner, sawsall, etc.2.)- Soft on the head, yet tight, sound proof fit!CAUTION! - These headphones are so effective, I'm going to have to be VERY SAFETY CONSCIOUS!- don't walk onto the street while cutting the grass! (no sidewalk)- make sure power tools are shut off & NOT RUNNING! esp. TABLE SAW! Grinder3.)- Stations come in Crystal Clear, and I have more choice available!4.)- A.) - WE"VE come a long way! 37 YEARS AGO, I used electricians tape to attach a Portable Radio to a Belt! and Plug in Home Stereo Headphones! The Ear Shattering Volume drowned out the sound of the lawnmower, but I'm sure didn't help my hearing!B.) - I tried Max level, and it's not as loud as my portable electronic radios with headphones I use for walking,BUT, with the SILENT background, I find the Lower MAXIMUM Volume - VERY COMFORTABLE!5.) The QUALITY & PRICE are FANTAXTICO! I have a couple of "Noise Reduction" headphones, (for computer, and portable radio) but there's no comparison.
